Hi, I'm Winnie!
It's very nice to meet you.

As a Product Designer, one of my favorite stories in all of human history is about the surgeon who invented rubber gloves -- not as a means to shield patients from infection, but to protect the raw, disinfectant-chapped hands of the user: a scrub nurse he admired.

Centuries later, an author would fondly write that, “He loved her to the point of invention.”

Although I did not choose to pursue Product Design until after I had graduated, I spent my time in college constantly creating and immersing myself in user experience ecosystems. My background in Psychology taught me to pursue designs that are intuitive and reflective of data collected through deliberate research. I later added Legal Studies to my curriculum to further educate myself on issues that have historically created disparities in equity in underserved communities. Additionally, my years of mentorship and teaching shaped me to be flexible in designing experiences for people of all ages and backgrounds, as well as adept at collaboration and receiving feedback on my work.

My dedication to compassionate design and user-centrism ultimately stems from a resolute love for building connection. I firmly believe that technology should be utilized to improve quality of life for all, and I am determined to alleviate pain points that raise barriers for those who feel overlooked and underrepresented by these new waves of advancements. Through my work, I aim to create inclusive, accessible digital products to empower marginalized individuals through empathy and consideration.

I design for the purpose of respecting, understanding, and serving our diverse community – to the point of invention.

When I'm away from my desk

I am constantly experimenting with new ways to create – I find joy in tackling arts and crafts conundrums with my own two hands (with an extra dash of audacity and luck). Ages ago, I actually challenged myself to pick up at least one new hobby every year in preparation for gift-giving seasons. You can check out my favorite projects on my Playground page!

In my spare time, I also enjoy reading mystery thrillers, growing into a passable plant mom, generating too many Spotify playlists, and being an avid Thai food enthusiast.

I appreciate you taking the time to learn all about me! As a small thank you, here is a picture of my senior dog, Teddy (who we have very lovingly dubbed a "baby-shaped grandma").

Let's keep in touch!
